Many Christians have heard about the new Hollywood "Biblical" film sweeping the nation and the box office these past couple of weeks. You can't hardly go anywhere without hearing about Darren Aronofsky's new film, Noah, which is quickly dividing people on whether it is a great film or a terrible film. I myself have struggled on whether to post anything about this film, and whether I should consider it a Christian film or not. I was even recently interviewed in a newspaper about my reservations toward this film, and whether or not I approved. This has quickly become a difficult issue for people, some saying it's wonderful that Hollywood is producing a bible story, and others heavily criticizing it for its "extra-biblical" additions that were not found in the original scripture passage.
Summit Ministries recently posted a great article on how to deal with this film, and I highly recommend that everyone reads it. You can find the article at this link here. In the meantime, what do you think about this film? Is it good that Hollywood is producing more biblical films like this, even though they may not be getting their facts straight? Or is this detrimental to those trying to reach out to others with the true and accurate biblical narrative? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
